Scrolling performance with filter in Excel 2003

I have a large file (1600 rows and columns to BN). When I use a filter (to
see just some of the rows) and try to scroll right, it slows ALOT around "X".

I have tried reducing the number of rows, but same problem. I have tried
removing shading, removing some columns, but no luck.

I have other spreadsheets that are much larger that do not have this issue.

Out of curiosity, do you have the same issue without the filters? Is the
sheet actively calculating as you are attempting to scroll? (Look at bottom
left of the file)

Thanks for your response! If I use NO filter, scrolling works fine.

There are no cacluations in this sheet (lower left says "12 of 1587" or
"filter mode" only).

No problem! So we've ruled out a few things. I know the file is large, but
you may want to copy the tab and paste special/values to another worksheet,
then try filtering to see if it resolved the issue.

well, this worked!! I copied data to an entirely NEW document and manually
reformated.

Don't know why - but it is fine now!

thanks a ton!

the could have been some data from an external source that was messing you
up. Happy it was that easy! :-)
