copy formula up
 

Is there an easy way to copy formulas up without dragging up? I have a
spreadsheet that has 4500 rows of info, I want to add the latest infor at the
top row starting in row 50 each time, but when I insert the info I have to
copy and paste the formula. Easch week I will be adding new info at the top
and I don't want to have to drag the formula if I can keep from it.

Copy Formulas Up Without Dragging Up

1. Select the cell that contains the formula you want to copy.
2. Press Ctrl + C on your keyboard to copy the formula.
3. Select the range of cells where you want to paste the formula.
4. Right-click on the selected range of cells and choose "Paste Special" from the context menu.
5. In the "Paste Special" dialog box, select "Formulas" and click "OK".

This will copy the formula to the selected range of cells without dragging it up. You can use this method each time you add new info at the top of your spreadsheet.

There is no easy way to copy a row up.

You can set a macro that would do what you wanted using the macro recorder.

Menu Tools macros create

As it is the first row each week you basically

Copy the last week's row and insert under the last row. If the formulas are
not changing then you could copy paste special values and again (formats).
(This will keep the sums intact).

Then look at the top row and delete the data that you need to enter (not the
formulas) and then stop the macro

Make sure you save the macro in the work book by creating it in the work book

What I do is -

Click copy on the cell to copy
Hold Ctrl+Shift the press the up arrow until it reached the desired cell, or
just hold the shift key and hit page up until it reaches the desired cell.

Then hit enter or paste.
