when i m writing 123456789123456789 in a cell. it is getting changed into
1.23457E+17. why? i want to write it without any change

Juat type an apostrophe (single quote ) before your digits.

Hi,

pre-format as text or enter an apostrophe ' before you type the number.

You could format the cell as a Number with the correct no of Decimal Places

Enter them in cells preformatted as Text or with a leading apostrophe
(').

So what number of decimal places do you think will display 18 significant
figures? Or are you using some new version of Excel which doesn't have the
limit of 15 significant figures?
