yearfrac sometimes does not work

I am using Excel 2003. yearfrac sometimes displays an error message.
Sometimes restarting excel the function works properly but other times I have
to restart my computer for it to work properly. What concerns me is the
inconsistency €“ I dont change my addin options. Any ideas what may cause
this?
