Alternatively, you can also use the "Borders" feature to add a circle border around the cell. Here are the steps: 1. Select the cell that you want to circle. 2. Click on the "Home" tab in the ribbon. 3. Click on the "Borders" button in the "Font" group. 4. Select the "More Borders" option at the bottom of the menu. 5. In the "Format Cells" dialog box, go to the "Border" tab. 6. Choose the circle border style from the "Art" dropdown menu. 7. Adjust the color, width, and dash type for the border. 8. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

You can do that by opening the Drawing toolbar if your version of Excel is
2003 or less. Then select the oval tool and circle the cell you want to draw attention to. If you're using 2007 click INSERT on the ribbon and then click Shapes. In the BASIC SHAPES category locate the oval tool and then circle the cell. You'll have to format the drawing object so that it's transparent so you can view the cell contents. If you need a perfect circle hold down a shift key and then draw your oval. The shift key will force the oval to a perfect circle. -- Kevin Backmann Dallas, TX "Teresa" wrote: I want to focus the reader's attention on a particular cell, by circling it.
