Excel cell contents to query criteria
Repeat of a previous unanswered request dated 2/8/2009 because it would help
me too. "Is there a way to have the input parameters/query criteria to a query within Excel be taken from cells within the worksheet? Am trying to avoid going in and altering the specific query file each time with various parameters - for example, date ranges." |
Excel cell contents to query criteria
hi
yes. assuming you already have a parameter query, simply right click the query range and choose parameters. a parameter dialog will pop up with three options. 1. prompt for value with string ie ask of input. 2. use the following value 3. get value from cell. you want option 3. if you don't have a parameter query set up yet, you will have to set one up first, otherwize the parameter option on the right click will be grayed out. regards FSt1 "Jimbo" wrote: Repeat of a previous unanswered request dated 2/8/2009 because it would help me too.
