I came across a file. When I rename the work sheet name, e.g. by typing
"asd", and finish the rename command, the work sheet name automatically appear as ".xls]asd". Why is this ? How to solve it ? Thanks for the help. D Moonn |

![]() When you say worksheet do you mean workbook? as that is what will have the .xls extension, how are you changing the name, is it via code? if so supply the code and we can help with that. Hi Simon,
Thanks for your reply. I do not mean renaming the whole workbook. I rename one sheet in the workbook. I do not know whether or not renaming is via code. I right click a sheet tag, select 'rename' command, type "asd" in the sheet tag, and finally click insdie a cell to finish the rename command. Then the sheet name appears as ".xls]asd". The same ".xls]" appears when I rename another sheet. There is no such problem in other Excel files. It is appreciated for any suggestion. Regeards.
