Whenever I put "30۫ ~ 35۫ " in a cell it flips the 35۫ to make 53۫. What is
causing this and how can I stop it?

hi crissy
i have tried to duplicate your problem but i'm not having much success.
using xp/xl03 here.
i have about 15 different combination for your post ..."30۫ ~ 35۫ "
with quotes..without quotes...with spaces....without spaces..with one
space...ect
i think i have tried every combination i can think of and can't seem to
reproduce your problems.
could you give more details??

I could replicate if I copied the value within quotes from the post...

It has something to do with the degree symbol...

i thought i was going crazy.
i didn't copy and paste. i just typed every combination i could think of.
maybe i'll try copy and paste in the future.
but still. i don't understand. always helpful excel seems to be helpful in
ways i never run into and still don't understand. whoa!
you help her. i'm at a loss here.
i will look for your solution to further my knowlege of allways helpfull
excel.

Did you notice that when you paste the value, right arrow key takes you to
the left?
