Default How do I copy borders without erasing other destination formats?

I have a pivot table and formulas to the right of the pivot table with
conditional formatting. As the pivot table outline changes, I want to be able
to copy the pivot table outline (borders) to the cells at the right of the
pivot table without erasing other formatting in those cells. Format painter
applies all formats, not just borders. I have not found another way of just
copying the borders. Any ideas?
