dates are reversed in my chart

LS

In my chart with a table a the bottom with the chart values, the date range
is reversed and I don't know why or how to fix.

What do I do to fix this.

Also, for date values it prints 4/6/2009. How can I format it to show 4/6
only.

Help much appreciated.

Under Format Axis, you should see a check box for Categories In Reverse
Order. If it checked, uncheck it or vice versa.

For the date value, also under Format Axis, go to Number and Date. You
should be able to select the proper format there.

I did two things that fixed the order problem
I sort the pivot date column from newest-to-oldest to oldest-to-newest
I unchecked 'date in reverse order' in the chart

Now the numbers in the chart match the number order in the pivot table again

for the date, i set the date format to 14-mar, which simplifies the date on
the chart.
it leaves the date in table at the bottom of the chart at 4/6/2009 (i want
to drop the 2009 part).
