columns wrong data
I have a spreadsheet when 2500 rows of information, in one of the columns
there is some data that should be in the next column. Is there a way I can find the information and then cut this infor and paste in the next column. I tried the find feature but it only does one at a time and with this many rows it gets tiresome. |

As you didn't give examples, hard to say, but try going to Data - Filter -
Auto Filter. Select the crtieria that you are looking for to find all your rows. Now just cut/paste the date over to appropriate columns. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "Pammy" wrote: I have a spreadsheet when 2500 rows of information, in one of the columns there is some data that should be in the next column. Is it text or numbers? Could you post an example of a couple of rows with
perhaps good data and data to move? Hard to advise with the information given, but maybe this will help. In addition to the auto filter, you can also go to Data then Sort and pick your criteria. If all your bad data is the same, then this may be helpful to cut and paste in large groups. If bad data is different, this is not helpful. Another option to identify bad data quickly is to go to Format then Conditional. Putting a conditional format on the row of cells could highlight all your bad data. Again, this may or may not be helpful depending on the type data you are dealing with. Another option would be to use an "If" formula in a different column to identify and pull out bad data. I cannot write this for you because I am not sure what you are dealing with yet. Perhaps one of these three methods will help you get started and perhaps if you post some data more help will be offered. Regards.
