open csv file
I work in an office where multiple users must open the same comma separated
text file with excel. We are all using Excel 2003, SP3. When some users open the file, excel automatically separates the data into columns, while others must use the menu, Data - Text to Columns in order to get the text to be sorted into columns. How can I get everyone to open and display the data the same way? |
open csv file
good question. I was telling somebody yesterday in doesn't seem consistent.
I think it has todo with the last time you used Text-To-Columns which is part of OPen file, Import Data, and Text-To-Columns. Depending if the last time you used Fixed Width or Delimited, and the type of delimited excel remembers the last setting and defaults to these conditions. Not sure.
