Percentage remaining

I am having trouble calculating the percentage remaining of our goal.
Our goal is $150,000.00 in sales. So far we have sales totaling $51,744.42.
I need to calculate the percentage remaining in order to reach the
$150,000.00.

Answer: Percentage remaining

Calculating Percentage Remaining to Reach Sales Goal

To start, we need to find out how much more sales you need to reach your goal of $150,000.00. We can do this by subtracting your current sales of $51,744.42 from your goal of $150,000.00:

$150,000.00 - $51,744.42 = $98,255.58

So you need to make an additional $98,255.58 in sales to reach your goal.

To calculate the percentage remaining, we need to:
  1. Divide the amount of sales remaining by the total sales goal
  2. Multiply the result by 100 to get a percentage

So in this case, we would divide $98,255.58 by $150,000.00:

$98,255.58 / $150,000.00 = 0.6557

Then, we multiply by 100 to get the percentage:

0.6557 x 100 = 65.57%

So the percentage remaining to reach your sales goal of $150,000.00 is 65.57%.

I hope that helps!

say you have 150,000 in cell A1 and 51,000 in cell B1.

use this formula in cell C1

=(A1-B1)/A1

Format cell C1 as a percentage

I must be doing something incorrectly. I have a goal of $2,000,000. (cell
I7)and so far we have sales against this number of $635.545.71.(cell F7) I
entered the formula =(I7-F7)/I7 and I got -959%

You have the right formula and appear to have set up the sheet correctly. I
tried it with your numbers and can't duplicate your results.

Check your cells for typos. If that doesn't work try typing it into a
different set of cells and see if you get a similar answer (don't cut &
paste, as you'll duplicate the error).

The formula is correct and should return 68.2% remaining if your numbers are
correct in I7 and F7

Re-enter the numbers and enter the formula in J7 or some other empty cell.
