Formula for Duplicating Rows
Could anybody tell me if it is possible to write in a Formula that will
duplicate the row by a set number of times. I have a spreadsheet where I need to duplicate each row upto 2,000 times, rather than copying the row and pasting it into 1,999 highlighted Rows does a formula exist to perform such a task? With my basic excel knowledge I imagine it looking something likk this - =DUPLICATE(R2x1999) but obviously that doesn't work. Please help to save me hours of work related boredom. -- James Dawson |

I think you can go for a macro code for this case.

And that you can do by typing the range into the Name Box (the empty field to the left of the Formula Bar). To select, say, the first 2000 cells in Column A, just key in A1:A2000 into the Name Box and then press the Enter Key... the range you typed in will be selected. You can then do as Francis said... enter your formula into the Formula Bar and press Ctrl+Enter. -- Rick (MVP - Excel) "Francis" wrote in message ... how about selecting the 2000 rows, go to the formula and input the content then press Ctrl and Enter instead of just Enter -- Hope this is helpful Pls click the Yes button below if this post provide answer you have asked Thank You cheers, francis Am not a greek but an ordinary user trying to assist another "J4mesD4wson" wrote: Could anybody tell me if it is possible to write in a Formula that will duplicate the row by a set number of times.
