Row height auto-fit too small

Is there a way to add a small margin above and below the text in each row to
spread out the rows better and make them more readable? Thanks,

Hi,

1. select the row numbers of all the rows you want to change.
2. right click any of the selected row numbers and choose Row height
3. the standard height is 15, but your's may be different, increase the row
height and click OK
4. Choose Format, Cells, Alignment tab, and pick Center from the Vertical
drop down.

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

And if you want to rely on autofitting the rows, you may want to (I wouldn't!)
add alt-enters as the first and last character.

Thanks, this may be the best way for an automatic row height adjustment - I
should have elaborated - my rows have from 1 to four lines of text and that
changes regularly as data is updated so I would still have to select those
with different numbers of lines and manually adjust and calculate how much
row height gives an equal margin above and below for various line counts.

Maybe you can insert a new column and fill it with enough alt-enter's so that
it's the cell that determines how high that rowheight will be.

You can even hide that column if you want. The autofit will still look at that
hidden column (at least in xl2003).
