Try changing the cell format (for the cell having the formula) to GENERAL...
Most likely it is set to TEXT If you see formulas in ALL cells then press CTRL-` once. "Marilyn Collins" wrote: I can see the result in the VLOOKUP Wizard box, but when I click OK I get the formula in the cell, not the result. Can anyone help/ Thanks. -- Marilyn Collins |

Cell format was Text and I changed it to General. I still got the formula.
I will populate all the cells (with the formula); can you tell me again what I do after I press the control key: press CTRL-` (I don't understand that last part). Thanks so much. -- Marilyn Collins "Sheeloo" wrote: Try changing the cell format (for the cell having the formula) to GENERAL... VLookup - result (cell) shows formula, not lookup data
After making sure that both columns were General, instead of one being Text
and one being General, my issue turned out to be that I was not using absolute reference in the vlookup formula. Once I put the $ in, e.g $a$1:$b$234, I saw data results instead of the formula. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. -- Marilyn Collins "Kassie" wrote: Could be that the cells containing the formulae are formatted as text?
