Assigning Bin to Value
I have a list of dollar values and a list of bins. While i can get the
frequency of each value in corresponding bin.... is there an easy way to get the bin assigned to the dollar value, in the data? Suppose my bins were in incriments of 5 for the example below (5, 10 , 15, 20, 25) Column A are my dollar values; i'd like column B to populate with the appropriate bin. A B 2.00 5 11.00 15 8.00 10 12.00 15 |

Put the bins in a separate column, say F1 thru F6:
0 5 10 15 20 25 with your data in A1 thru A4, In B1 put: =VLOOKUP(A1,F$1:F$6,1,TRUE)+5 and copy down to display: 2 5 11 15 8 10 12 15 -- Gary''s Student - gsnu200840 "Suzanne" wrote: I have a list of dollar values and a list of bins.
