Cell selection bug

I'm having problems with a spreadsheet that I created where I will select a
single cell, but the selection range will expand to the bottom of the column
automatically. Does anyone have a solution to prevent this from happening?

Hi,

First thing to check is that the F8 key is not on - press Esc and see if the
problem continues.

If it does, then a little more detail would help. For example, you cursor
is where when you start the command. Where are you clicking. Do all the
cells in the entire column get selected or just the ones below the cursor.
And when you say bottom do you mean row 65,536 or just to the bottom of the
data. Are you holding down any keys when you click the mouse. Does this
problem happen with the mouse and the keyboard?

If this helps, please click the Yes button.

The F8 key is not the problem. The selection is extending only within the
selection column and only seems to happen at the bottom of the each page (as
in the printed page extent)(For each page I have included a header and
footer). The extended selection is only below the cursor and varies in the
total number of cells selected. It happens while only using the mouse button.
The problem appears to only exist in the Page Layout view.

The spreadsheet is layed out in 6 different printable sheets and each sheet
has a header and footer. The problem occurs at the bottom of each sheet near
the footer, and selects downward from the cursor a seemingly random yet
repeating number of cells. 6 cells,6 cells, 6 cells, 14 cells, 14 cells, 14
cells. If I click on the upper part of the page it will select an individual
cell normally again. It also appears to only occur in the Page Layout view.
