Excel 2007 File Icons in Windows XP

I am not able to display Excel icons for my EXCEL 2007 files
on my Wondows XP system.

I cannot find the controls for the Excel file Icons.
I just want the regular "X" type icon that i had in Excel 2003.

It also apprears to me that if I double click on an EXCEL 2007
file it takes a very long time to open.

Opening Excel files from the Excel program directly works much faster.

I would appreciate help in solving the EXCEL Icon problem and the EXCEL
opening speed problem.

Thank you!!

Excel 2007 File Icons in Windows XP

What Icon does it currently use?

To change it go to My ComputerToolsFolder OptionsFile Types.

Scroll down to XLXS and select it.

AdvancedChange Icon

Pick the one you want.

Check also the path in "Open"

Should be similar to this.....................

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\EXCEL.EXE" /e

The /e prevents a new workbook opening.
