Help! Draft Watermark Won't Go Away

Hi,

I've got a 2003 XP Excel file with a Draft watermark on it - it is not in
header, it is not background, it does not appear to be word art - but if it
is word art how would I select it to delete it?

I cannot get rid of the mark and I'm going crazy! I'm going to have to copy
and paste and redo 12 sheets.

TIA!

Tools / Options / Hide All Objects removed the Draft from view and it doesn't
print - however, I still don't understand where it is coming from.

Are you in pagebreak preview mode and see large gray numbers like 1, 2, 3
etc?

ViewNormal will get rid of these.

If something else....................

If you are sure it is not FormatSheetBackground then try
F5SpecialObjectsDelete

Note: this will delete all objects

Try first on a copy of the sheet.

If it's an object as it apperently is, Edit Goto Special Check
'Objects' OK should highlight it,

Alan.

Thanks, but no, in normal or page break view you see a giant DRAFT diagonally
across the page. This document seems to be locked in some way, it may have
been coded or something.

If you can hide all objects in ToolsOptions it sounds like WordArt or
similar.

F5SpecialObjects selects nothing?

It could be code adding the watermark, but you should be able to select it.

Email me the workbook if you want.

Change the AT and DOT in my address.

Thanks for your help. When I try to look at the code it says it is locked.
It also has Objects grayed out in the F5 special area. So, someone locked
this up, but at least I can hide it.

Thank you.
