After completing a chart and wanting a trend line, why is it that of all the
buttons under chart are available, however the trend line button never lights
up, so you can't add one?

I suspect it will be available if you select a series.

Hi,

Certain chart types do not have the trendline feature.
Neither do any of the 3d chart styles.

Hi,

Trendlines can not be applied in any 3-D chart, any stacked chart type and
Radar Charts, Pie Charts, Doughnut, Surface or Area charts.
