Can't access cells

I use EXCEL 2000 with VISTA. I copy and paste data from a financial paper to
EXCEL. I can't access the cells. All I get with the mouse when I hover
over the data is a 4 way arrow that won't activate the cells. Please help.

Hi

What you have pasted is a picture or image of the data.
You will not be able to directly access data within the image.

Try copying it again, but instead of using Paste, try Paste Special and see
what options you get.

I think what your problem is, why you can't access the cells is because if
you go to the Review tab and see if those cells are protected, or the small
clip board on the right bottom side of what you pasted and if there is put
your mouse directly on the small arrow going down without clicking, and you
will get two options click on match destination formatting.
Hope this helps

No, the OP has Pasted in an image of the desired data, not the actual data.
