With the Excel file open:
Click "File"
Choose "Save As"
In the Popup click "Tools"
Choose "General Options"
A new popup appears.
You have several options.
"Password to Open" Choose this to create a PW to be able to open the file
(encrypted)

"Password to Modify" Choose this to create a PW to be able to modify the
file. Prevents the original file from beingoverwritten.

Read Only Recommened just suggests to the user to open in read only.

Advanced button allows you to choose your encryption.

Hope this helps. You can also go to Tools|Options|Security

Hi

When you save the excel sheet the Save As dialogue box will open where you
need to specify the file name. On the same box you will find a drop down list
named Tools. Click on Tools General Options. Here you will get the prompt
for Password and Confirm Password. Enter the password and save the file. At
the time of opening the file the user will need to enter this password.

Hope it helps.

Please click yes if it solves your issue.
