Inserting decimal
I want to insert a two decimal place in the cell automatically every time I
enter a number. For example, when I type 2345 in a cell, I want it to change to 23.45 Is there anyway to format the cell with applying any formula? |

In pre xl2007 I would goto toolsoptionsedit tab, and place a check mark in "Fixed decimal" and set the "Places" to 2. Now if you enter 2345 you get 23.45. But remember if you want 250 and not 2.50 you must enter 25000. Hope this helps Mike Rogers "Radha" wrote: I want to insert a two decimal place in the cell automatically every time I enter a number. Hi,
In 2007 the command is Office Button, Excel Options, Advanced, check Automatically insert a decimal point (in the Editiong options area) and set Places to 2. -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. But remember if you want 250 and not 2.50 you must enter 25000. You can also enter 250 then a decimal point to return 250 The decimal point will be ignored.
