Could not open file through VPN
 

I have Excel 2007 in both my laptop and my office network. I am connected to
my workplace through VPN. When I try to open a file (.xlsx), I can get the
error "COULD NOT OPEN ................
When I tried to open any excel file locally on my laptop, it opens fine. Is
there a setting anyway that prevent me from opening a remote file?
