Trouble sorting a subtotalled list
 

When I try and sort a subtotalled list from largest to smallest by clicking
the Z to A button I get the message "This removes the subtotals and sorts
again. If you want to sort the sutotalled groups, choosev the Cancel button
then collapse the outline and try again."

How do I do this/ Why does this work sometimes but not always?
