Excel 2003 saving as Word
We have a number of spreadsheets that we "save as" with new data.
Just recently, when we do a save as, we give it a new name, the "Save as Type" is definitely Excel workbook but, when it saves, the icon shows as a word doc. If you try to open it, Word starts. If you rename it at the folder view and put an xls extension on it, it opens fine. We then noticed that when we do a save as.. there are quotes around the name. If we take the quotes off, it saves correctly. There are not quotes around the original file names at the folder view. Any ideas ??? |

the extension doesnt show. However, just looking at the file in explorer
shows the original as an excel file. "Sheeloo" wrote: What is the original extension of the files with this problem? Does it have .doc as extension (within quotes) when you try to do SAVE AS?
