worksheet functions

In microsoft Excel 2003:
Does anyone know of a worksheet function, built in or homemade, that can
replace the contents of a cell when it becomes inactive? I would like to
enter a "b" or an "s" into a cell and have it changed to "Buy" or "Sell" or
any other replacement string as soon as I go on to another cell. Can this
be done?
Thanks.

Les,

A function could do it, but would have to live in a different cell from that
containing the B or S. You could use Tools - Autocorrect to cause it to
replace B with Buy, etc., after it's been keyed in. This would affect Word
and other Office programs too. Or you could use and event macro that made
the substitution only when you're in the particular column of interest.
