Turn off Office XML Prompt in Excel

How do I turn off the following amazingly annoying prompt?

This document is both encrypted and password protected. The Office Open XML
formats available in the 2007 release provide stronger encryption. Do you
want to increase the security of this document by converting to an Office XML
format?

NO...I DO NOT...surely there is a way, via a registry hack or some other
method. I have 6-8 spreadsheets in 2003 formats...I abhor Office 2007 (I have
even ceased using Outlook due to repeated issues and have gone with
Thunderbird)...I am forced to use Excel 2007 at work, but I have 2003 at home
and wish to keep these spreadsheets in the current format, but I am asked
this everytime I go to save my work...

If I can't find a solution my next step is to dump Excel 2007 and just begin
using Open Office...
