Cannot update "Chart data range:" Field

I have about 35 charts on individual sheets that are all based on their own
PivotTable. I had to save the file to a new location, and when I go to
update the charts in the new location, it appears that each of the charts
maintained the link to the old file, even though the files have the same
name, just different file paths.
To compound the problem, when I right-click on the chart, and try to use
"Select Data...", the "Chart data range:" field is greyed out. How do I get
the charts focused on the new file? ...how do I get my charts to start
working off the new file location?

I have done this before by doing sumif (for numbers) and countif (for counts)
off of the Pivot table location. You may have to group some of the fields to
make it unique enough by creating a column outside the pivot table then
looking at a range column within the pivot table for the item/s you need.
Excel will try and link pivot table data to the pivot table detail , but if
you just select ranges you should be ok.

Don,

I appreicate the response, and approach, but the critical issue is I can not
even access the field "Chart data range" it is locked up. I can not dump the
35 charts created thus far.
