Formula to populate data in a cell based on another cell's color
I am trying to figure out a way to populate data in one cell based on another
cell's background color. Is there a formula to do that? I would prefer to be able to sort based on background color but don't see that as an option in Excel 2003. Can anyone help? -- Cassie |

You can not write a cell formula based on color.
If there's some logic behind why the cells are colored that way, you CAN go off of that though. If you tell us the logic behind the coloring, we can proabably write the formula. Note that there is a way to detect cell color, but you would have to use VBA/macros. -- Best Regards, Luke M *Remember to click "yes" if this post helped you!* "Cassie" wrote: I am trying to figure out a way to populate data in one cell based on another cell's background color.
