Counting Occurence of identical order numbers
I have exported some information from our system that contains Purchase Order
detail. What I need to do is count the number of PO's and not PO lines, the infor contains a PO reference for each line, and then link the responser to the originator. This is so I can report on the number of PO raised by particular a particular person. I can do this with the lines no problem just can get the info by PO. I have tried subtotal but this does not seem to work properly, and filtering. any ideas. pse -- many thanks |

Thanks
I have all this data in Pivot tables but just can not get it total the number of Purchase Orders rather than the number of PO Lines. There seeems to be no way of calulating this that returns a sensible answer in the right place thanks -- many thanks "Bernard Liengme" wrote: Have a look at pivot tables http://www.cpearson.com/excel/pivots.htm http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Pivots/pivotstart.htm http://www.contextures.com/xlPivot02.html http://www.ozgrid.com/Excel/excel-pivot-tables.htm http://www.techonthenet.com/excel/pivottbls/index.htm http://www.dicks-blog.com/archives/2...le-parameters/ best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "ximenez47" wrote in message ... Hard to solve without seeing the data. Maybe you need to use COUNT rather
than SUM best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme Microsoft Excel MVP http://people.stfx.ca/bliengme remove caps from email "ximenez47" wrote in message ...
