Formula Linking Issue
I recently changed computers and my new excel isn't configured like my old
program. I used to be able to double-click a cell that contained a link to another cell and the program would automatically jump to the linked cell, whether it was on the current worksheet or another worksheet within the same file. This was an extremely useful auditing tool. This is now not working; when I double click the cell now it either simply highlights the precedent cells or shows the formula but I'm not taken to the linked cell. Is there a switch to turn on somewhere to activate this function? |
Formula Linking Issue
I solved my own problem...in the "options" menu...on the general
tab...there's a check-off box titled "Edit directly in Cell". You need to uncheck this box, and then when you double click a cell linked to another cell or range of cells it brings you to the cells rather than edits the formula.
