Eliminate duplicate values in drop down list
I am creating a drop down list based on a "Month" column in my data. ie. this
line item is associated with January, this line with March etc. The problem is that I have several lines for each month. Is it possible to create a drop down list that will only list each month once based upon the "Month" column in my data? Thanks! |
Eliminate duplicate values in drop down list
Not sure if I understand you correctly, U may try this one:
to make list of unique values: Go to: data - filter - advanced filter Choose the area for list (source list, which consist duplicate names of months or what) Insert the same area to Criteria dialogue Check box: without duplicate inputs Choose copy elsewhere and choose the left up cell of the area where you wish the list to be displayed (copy to). N.B. I use localiyed version of Excel (not english), I was trying to describe the way, however the names in the dialogue may be different for sure. Hope it helps :-) Alojz "irvine79" wrote: I am creating a drop down list based on a "Month" column in my data. ie. this line item is associated with January, this line with March etc. The problem is that I have several lines for each month.
