Is it possible to change the alignment in a footer? Or even add tabs to
align text?

I assume you mean footer for a 'print out' !
Goto Page Setup Header/Footer Custom Footer gives you the oportunity to
use either Left, Centre or right Section and you can if required set to the
centre of each section but I believe this is the closest to setting alignment
you will get.
