Excel 2000 patch to view newer Excel versions (2003 and 2007)

I have a machine that has to query reports and must export to Excel format.
After clicking on it, it tries to load in Excel 2000 and that is where I
receive a message containing, " This document is a Web archive file. If you
are seeing this message, this means your browser or editor does not support
Web archive files or you are opening this file in a Microsoft Excel version
prior to 2002 XP."

The computer I am trying to run this export is on a Windows 2000 machine
with a recent installation of SP4 and Compatiblity of 2007 pack.

What do I need to do from here? Or is there something that needs to be done
in the program specificically--needs a patch/pack?

Sounds to me like either you need to get Excel 2002 on your machine, or maybe
you can get your source to provide their file in Excel 2000

Hi Pete........
Thanks for remembering........yeah, I've been off for a while........pretty
busy doing some little Excel programs actually.....but I've found that if I
don't constantly do a lot of the little basic Excel things that I forget
some, and it's embarrassing if a newby asks something simple and I forget the
answer......so, I thought I'd pop back in for awhile and "get a tune-up".
Good to see that you're still alive and kicking.
