Missing = sign button in excel XP and 2003
I recently upgraded from excel 2000 to XP, then 2003. In 2000, there was an
equal sign button next to the edit box below the tool bars. This would allow you to insert an equal sign in a cell already containing a value and give you a subtotal for any mathematical operation you perform in that cell. In XP and 2003, this has been replaced with a function button which does not give me the same results when using. Is there a way to bring the "=" sign button back or is there other functionality which would provide the same result? -- thanks.... |
You can right click a toolbar, select Customize and add a tool with equal
sign Or tap the = key with finger tip before type the function name. best wishes -- Bernard V Liengme www.stfx.ca/people/bliengme remove caps from email "crb" wrote in message ... But it doesn't bring the same functionality as the = sign had in previous
versions. However, if you type the = sign as Bernard suggests, you can then click in the Name Box to find your Function from the most recently used and select it, bypassing the Function Wizard. If the MRU list is small, you must go through the Wizard or "more functions" from Name Box.
