Multiple worksheets open on starting Excel.
A week ago I placed 4 shortcuts on my desktop pointing to Excel worksheets.
Now when I open one of them or just launch Excel from the menu, it automatically opens about 16 of my worksheets. If I launch from one of my shortcuts, the file I launched is the last one to open. Can someone tell me what I've done and how to fix it? |
Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the General tab.
There, ensure "Alternate Startup Directory" or "At startup, open all files in:" is empty. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Jerry" wrote in message ... Thanks Chip. This was driving me nuts. My Options dialog box doesn't say
"At startup, open all files in:" so I never made the connection. Thanks again. "Chip Pearson" wrote: Go to the Tools menu, choose Options, then the General tab. Jerry,
Older versions of Excel used the phrase "Alternate Startup Directory", which isn't very descriptive. Later versions use the phrase "At startup, open all files in:", which is a more clear description. -- Cordially, Chip Pearson Microsoft MVP - Excel Pearson Software Consulting, LLC www.cpearson.com "Jerry" wrote in message ...
