Hi
The shreadsheet is protected by "password to modify" by one person only Is it possible to permit another user to amend the colour of the cells only and not to alter any data in the existing sheet? regards -- Message posted via OfficeKB.com http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...excel/200901/1 |

Hi,
Unprotect the sheet select the cells you want others to edit right click on themCell formattingProtection and then uncheck the locked check box. Protect the sheet and save now the other person can then edit the data in the unlocked cells. -- _______________________ Click "Yes" if it helps ________ Thanks Suleman Peerzade "BNT1 via OfficeKB.com" wrote: Hi The shreadsheet is protected by "password to modify" by one person only Is it possible to permit another user to amend the colour of the cells only and not to alter any data in the existing sheet? regards -- Message posted via OfficeKB.com http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...excel/200901/1 |

limited access spreadsheet - allow format change only
lock the cells (format protection Locked).
Then when you protect the sheet select allow users to: "select locked cells" and "format cells" Locking prevents data edit, protection prevents selection (and/or allows limited capability in selected cells) "BNT1 via OfficeKB.com" wrote: Hi The shreadsheet is protected by "password to modify" by one person only Is it possible to permit another user to amend the colour of the cells only and not to alter any data in the existing sheet? regards -- Message posted via OfficeKB.com http://www.officekb.com/Uwe/Forums.a...excel/200901/1 |
