Date Format in Spreadsheet different from menu bar how to fix?

Using MS excel 2003, the date in spreadsheet is showing as NZ / Australia
format, the date in menu bar up top is showing in the American format.

How do we get them to be the same?

'menu bar up top ' shows the format of your Computer (Windows?)
and the cell shows the Cell format

You can change the Cell format to dd/mm/yyyy or whatever you want...
Edit-Format Cells (I think).

If you want to change the system format then (if Windows) do it through
Control Panel-Date and Time

Yes that worked, but it was under regional settings in Control Panel.
Thanks
