what is ! in a formula converted from lotus 123
 

I have converted spreadsheets from lotus 123 into excel 2000 and in some of
the formulas a exclamation mark ! symbol appears in the middle of the
figures. No one seems to know what this means or doing if anything, Can you
please help me.

if it looks like this
Sheet2!A1
it means that you're talking about cell A1 on Sheet 2 rather than on the
current sheet
