stuck!

formula &format protecting

I have created a timesheet that calculates flexitme ongoing totals etc(a
major acheivement for me !!) how do i protect it so that people can put
anything they like in any cell they choose, so that what they input does not
overwrite the format or oiginal formula or sum function etc ?.
The main problem is a total column that is in turn used to calculate
flexitime , the total column is not an input column as it is arrived at by a
formua ,unless a person has a flexi period off in which case they put 7:24 in
it. This then erases the formula.
THANKS TO THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HELPED ON PREVIOUS PROBS,AND TO THOSE WHO
WILLWITH THIS !

Hi

Unlock all the cells where you want to allow people to make entries. Then
protect your worksheet, and use a password. The latter wil not prevent any
determined attempts at overwriting your formulae, but it will ensure that no
one overwrites anything by mistake

Hi

i suggest you redesign your timesheet to include 1 extra column - a
flexitime column and then use an IF function in the total column that picks
up the number in the flexitime column if there is one, if there isn't it
uses the existing formula .. .this way you won't have people over-writing
your formulas and standard worksheet protection will work

(to use worksheet protection - select the cells you want them to get to,
choose format / cells / protection - untick locked, then choose tools /
protection / protect sheet - put a password on it if you want to slow
people down from unprotecting it somewhat).
