Formula displays as formula, not as result
 

A Excel 2007 workbook, converted from 2003, is displaying formulas instead of
their results when the formulas refer to a different worksheet in the same
workbook. The "Display formulas in cells instead of calculated results"
option is turned OFF for all worksheets. Does anyone know what can cause this?

This is not the normal experience when XL2003 files are opened in XL2007
Could it be that these cells are formatted as text?

Go to View, Formula Auditing, and click on Show Formulas
