Excel 2007 bug? Merged cells must be formatted as scientific

Trying to find out if this is happening with anyone else. To display the
text entered into merged/wrapped cells in Excel 2007, I have to format it as
"scientific" instead of as text. Bizarre! I use merged/wrapped cells
extensively and never came across any issues prior to the upgrade to Office
2007. If I don't format the text as scientific, it is displayed (and prints)
as a long string of ##### signs.

Have you tried formatting as General.

This stops the display of ############# in earlier versions of Excel.

I do not replicate your problem in Excel 2007 with the information you provide.

I would suggest providing more detailed information, as there may be some other
issue going on than what you conclude.
