Default Count text

I have two columns with text. I'm looking for a formula that will count that
if column A has the word "Aug" and column B has the word "sl" it will give me
a number of time that it occurs.

One way:

=SUMPRODUCT(--(A1:A100="Aug"),--(B1:B100="sl"))

For an explanation of the -- in the formula, see
