Hi,
I've had a long term problem with Excel. I want to create dependent lists that have a free text option in the dependent list. E.g. if user selects "Green Fruit" in a cell in column A then in the adjacent cell in column B they get option of "Apple" and "Pear"; if user selects "Red Fruit" they get "Strawberry" and "Tomato"; but if user selects "Other" in column A they can enter free-text in the cell in column B. I can create normal and dynamic dependent lists with no problem (using INDIRECT or OFFSET etc.). I do not want to disable Error Alert for invalid data in the dependent list because the user should only be able to input free text when they have selected the "Other" option. Can anyone help? ---------------- Now playing: The Beatles - Yellow Submarine via FoxyTunes |
