numbers and letters will not display in cell
 

we have a shared excel workbook in the office... one of my buddies cannot
view letters that have been added to numbers in cells ....
example 1, 1A 1B 2, 3, 3A, 3B the cells just show 1,1,1,2,3,3 in column
order any ideas why he cannot see the letters?
