Data Groupings: Are There Limitations?
Greetings. I have an Excel 2007 spreadsheet that contains a large amount of
data (about 40,000 rows of the stuff). I was wondering if Excel 2007 will slow down considering (or other problems will arise) if I insert a large number (over 5,000) grouping of various rows (Data | Grouping | etc.)? For example, MS Word 2007 slows down and gets kind of cranky if the file gets two large or complicated. My question then is this (and I wish I could here an answer directly from the horse's mouth -- Microsoft -- hence, the incredible value of the MVPs that help us here in these forums): are there recommendations or warnings about using too many data groupings? And if yes, how many are too many? P.s.: my computer has a lot of RAM and a powerful CPU, so ... |
