How to count it - 13 Dec?

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to count it?
There is a list of date under column A, and I would like to count the number
of date, which is not equal today, and return it in cell B1.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

=COUNTIF(A:A,"<"&TODAY())
