Drag & Drop difference?
Can anyone tell me why there are times when dragging and dropping a single
date or number down a column causes it to advance, but then other times the value stays the same??? Are there settings to control this function? -- GD |
Drag & Drop difference?
I've given up trying to remember.
If I'm not sure (99.9% of the time), I'll rightclick on the autofill button and drag. When I let go of the button, I'll see options that I can use. Excel generally does OK if a single date is entered and dragged.
Does not do well if a single number is entered and dragged. OK with two numbers selected and dragged..........the sequence is recognized. Custom Lists are also recognized when a single item is entered. As Dave points out............right-click and drag gives you options.
